I'm Cytoscientist at Human Reproduction Specialist Centre, National Population & Family Development Board. Malaysia.
For you information, my qualification is DMLT (Malaya), BBioMed Sc.
(Hons)(UK Malaysia), CT(International Academy of Cytology) (Chicago), MMedHealth
Sc.(Bio Medical) (UK Malaysia) and for both degree my final projects (thesis)
was on Cytology related with cervical cancer and infection such as HPV.
I plan to do my PhD, at your university. Do you have any ideas whom should I contact for further information about the research they conduct? Either I have to run my own research supervise by the supervisor or I have to do their own research/project? Do you know any supervisor doing their research/project related to Cytology or any research that use cytology sample running with biotech/molecular technique(molecular, cellular and immunological aspects)? Or detection/development of infection that can cause cervical cancer? If so who should I contact?
Currently I'm in charge/Head of Reproductive Screening Unit which included 4 main lab; Cytology, Microbiology, Biochem and Haematology. I attach at the Reproductive Biology Laboratory, Human Reproduction Specialist Centre, National Population & Family Development Board, Malaysia (LPPKN). This is Government organization.
I got basic in Microbiology, Biochem, Haematology, Pathology, Genetic, immunology, Nutrition and etc but specialist in Cytology both gynae and non gynae as well. In my Cytology Lab, we only concentrate gynae specimen. I will screen the positive cases to reconfirm the diagnosis and do the quality control as well. Beside that, I also do my own research related with cervical cancer, infection such as HPV, ALO etc. I also do research collaborate with others agency/university that related with health/medical field (sexual, fitness and etc). Part time lecturer at local university, teaching Cytology subject and as supervisor for Biomedical Sciences student for their final year thesis.
I wish to do my PhD either related with gynae cytology or non gynae cytology. I also don't mind to do my future supervisor project as my PhD research.
Government of Malaysia will support for the hold years of my studies.
Funding depends on offer letter from the university. For what I know, normally
for PhD its take 3-4 years to complete and normally the university will
write duration of study is 3 years. I my case, if I will get offer from
your university, I hope that your university will write duration of study
4 years. If your university put 3 years, if I cannot complete during 3
years I have to reapply for the visa and reapply to extend my study fund.
Its might easier if offer letter write duration of study is 4 years. Funding
will start year 2007.
I really interested and hope to do my PhD at any university. Please advice.
