Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality health care throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. The cytology laboratory is centrally located in Collingwood, close to the city and well served by public transport. A full-time maternity leave position is available between June and October 2008 for an experienced scientist to perform cytological screening of gynaecological, exfoliative and fine needle aspiration specimens.

Successful applicants will have a degree in laboratory medicine (BAppSc(MLS) or equivalent) and experience in gynaecological cytology. The ability to work independently while being part of a team is important. Duties include diagnostic screening and participation in the educational and quality assurance activities of the department. CT(ASC) and experience in non-gynaecological screening would be an advantage.
