Melbourne Pathology
Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria’s largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality health care throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. An opportunity is currently available for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, experienced scientist to join our team in a leadership role. The cytology laboratory is centrally located in Collingwood, close to the city and well served by public transport. The laboratory provides a diagnostic service in both gynaecological and non-gynaecological specimens, including exfoliative and fine needle aspirations.
Successful applicants will have a degree in laboratory medicine BAppSc(MLS) or equivalent, CT(ASC) and possibly further postgraduate qualifications with at least 10 years experience in cytology. The ability to work independently while being able to motivate a team to achieve laboratory goals is essential. The position is full-time and duties would include diagnostic screening of both gynaecological and non-gynaecological specimens, participation in the quality assurance activities of the department, responsibility for the education of staff members to the standard of the ASC training syllabus, maintenance of educational slide files and statistical performance reporting.
