Cytology Service - Cytology Courses 2009
At Victorian Cytology Service we specialize in gynaecological cytology. One of our corporate objectives is “To train scientists and pathologists”. VCS provides short courses in gynaecological cytology for cytopathologists and scientists/cytotechnologists.
Cytology 5 Day Refresher Course
Monday 13th July – Friday 17th July 2009
This 5 day course provides an introduction to gynaecological cytology aimed at consolidating
basic knowledge and practice. It is aimed at scientists and pathologists with qualifications in
cytology but with limited practical experience. It is also suitable for pathology registrars.
The course will cover:

| Benign Changes & Low Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions |
| High Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions |
| Glandular lesions |
| Cancer |
Advanced Cytology 5 Day Course
Monday 20th July – Friday 24th July 2009
This course provides a comprehensive review of all areas of gynaecological cytology with an
emphasis on differential diagnoses and diagnostic problems and includes sessions on Liquid
Based Cytology and Quality Assurance. It is aimed at scientists and pathologists with preexisting
competence and experience in gynaecological cytology. The course will cover:

| Glandular lesions & differential diagnoses |
| Liquid Based Cytology |
