Dr Stephen Raab

Dr Stephen Raab is a Professor of Pathology at the University at Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He brings
a vast knowledge of cytology practices and diagnosis in both gynaecological and non-gynaecological cytology.
His research interests include patient safety, process improvement, patient preference, and pathology
organizational cultures. In particular he has reported on improving patient safety through the study of past errors that have occurred in pathology. A recent study reviewed the variability in cytologic-histologic correlation practices and implications for patient safety and the critical role of pathology informatics in error reduction and quality initiatives.

Mr Nick Dudding

Mr Nick Dudding is a Senior Biomedical Scientist and Training Centre Manager for the UK NHS cervical screening program and will present developments in cervical screening in the UK including liquid based cytology and automated screening. As a qualified trainer he brings a wealth of knowledge regarding educational, training and workforce issues, including the advanced practitioner qualification for senior cytologists. Nick is an international expert in the field of quality assurance issues relating to gynaecological cytology and will participate in several sessions relating to these.
