VENUE

The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre was officially opened in 2004 and is conveniently located in the heart of the Gold Coast. The GCCEC is Queensland’s largest regional convention centre and features a Main Arena, Exhibition Halls and meeting rooms which cater from 10 to 6,000 people. Awarded Caterer of the Year in 2005 and 2006 by the Restaurant and Caterers of Australia and Event of the year (2004) by Meetings and Events Australia, the GCCEC promises to meet all our expectations. The GCCEC is the only convention centre in Australia to offer total wireless technology facilitating email and internet access from anywhere in the venue. SOCIAL EVENTS

Both the Beach Party Cocktails and Gala Dinner will be held at the GCCEC and will afford spectacular views of the
Broadbeach canals and skyline. The cost of these functions (with drinks) is included in full registration (not day). Dress code for the cocktail party is casual beach wear.

The ASC website www.cytology-asc.com has all the information relevant to the conference on the Gold Coast. All
forms can be downloaded and there is a link to Gold Coast Tourism. Information on the Tutorial is also available on this site.

CONTINUING EDUCATION SCHEMES

Conference and Tutorial attendees may claim continuing education points. Cytologists may claim points for the Continuing Education for Cytotechnologists Scheme and Medical delegates may claim CPDP/CME points.

CANCELLATION

Any cancellation received before 1 September 2009 will entitle the registrant to a full refund less $50 administration
charge. No refunds will be permitted after this date.

PARKING

Parking is available at the Convention Centre.

PROFFERED PAPERS AND POSTERS

A prize of $500 for financial members of the Society is available for each of these categories:
Best Oral Presentation, Best Scientific Poster, Best Case Study Poster by a Cytologist, and, Best Poster or Oral
presentation by a Registrar.
Guidelines for abstracts are available from the ASC Office or downloaded here - abstract form [10kb].
Abstracts for proffered papers and poster presentations may be submitted on disk or by email to
ascinc@ozemail.com.au. The closing date is 30 July 2009.
