Specimen type: Liver FNA.
Clinical History:
- Female, aged 50
- Mass identified in liver
- Elevated AFP levels (12µg/L)
- Hepatitis B and C antigen negative.
- No history of cirrhosis or liver disease.
Differential diagnosis...?
- benign nodule
- primary ca - hepatocellular or variant
- metastatic ca
Mass in liver was aspirated under ultrasound guidance.
2 fixed and 2 air-dried slides prepared.
