CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR CYTOLOGISTS (CEC) PROGRAM

Welcome to the Continuing Education for Cytologists (CEC) Scheme.  The aim of the Scheme is to encourage non-medical members of the Society to maintain, update and improve diagnostic skills in Cytopathology.

The Scheme provides a means by which individuals can gain credit for participation in a wide range of educational activities through formal documentation of their participation.

Registration:

Are you a non-medical member of the ASC?  If so, do you know that?

  • Participation in the Scheme provides formal recognition of your on-going educational activities.  Participants can include the following Post Nominal after their name: CECP (Continuing Education for Cytologists Participant)
  • Most professional bodies offer formal continuing educational programs, many of which are mandatory.  Enhance your professional status now and join our Scheme.
  • Registrants will receive feedback regarding their performance compared to peers.  A Certificate of Participation will also be provided.
  • Members have an obligation to be involved in a range of educational activities directed at enhancing knowledge, competency and diagnostic accuracy.  This is a NPAAC requirement.
  • In-House Co-ordinators will receive a “Participant List” that can be used to show regulatory authorities such as NATA.
  • Participation in the Scheme is free for all non-medical members of the Society.
